Design Principles
I believe learning is about permanent changes in skills and understandings, challenging students to higher level learning and independent thinking. I believe that students must engage in a variety of meta-cognitive processes to become self-directed learners and to develop critical thinking skills.
Design principles enable me to engage students in active, challenging and relevant learning. Each design principle has a distinctive method and relates to a different dimension of planning. Each of these design principles assists me in constructing and devising lessons that support and structure effective and varied teaching strategies and practices in my classroom.
